In 2018, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Tranh, former Director General of the Saigon Coop Investment and Development Corporation (SCID), và her daughter Ms. Lê Nguyễn Minh Hiền donated 200 million VND for 20 Bùi Trọng Chương scholarships to be awarded from 2019-20 to 2022-23. Lê Nhựt Tân, Lương Văn Hy, Dương Xuân Giao, và Ms. Phùng Thị Thu Thủy) also donated 34,450,000 VND in summer 2018, complementing 25,500,000 VND disbursed from the investment income, in order to make 6 scholarship awards (10,000,000 VND each) for the academic year 2018-19. These donations, used directly for scholarship awards, continued the pattern since 2016-17.
