Academic year 2015-2016

The Bùi Trọng Chương Scholarship of 10 million VND for the academic year 2015-2016 was awarded to Trần Văn Cường, a Grade 10 student specializing in Mathematics, at a ceremony organized at 7 AM on Monday, November 2^nd, 2015 at Lê Hồng Phong High School.  Present at the ceremony were Mr. Võ Anh Dũng (former Principal of the Lê Hồng Phong High School, Vice-President for External Affairs of the Bùi Trọng Chương Scholarship Fund, President of the Liaison Committee of Teachers and Alumni of Petrus Ký – Lê Hồng Phong), Mr. Trần Đức Huyên (current Vice-Principal of the Lê Hồng Phong High School), and Mr. Lâm Vĩnh Thế (Vice-President for Internal Affairs of the Bùi Trọng Chương Scholarship Fund).

At the ceremony, Mr. Lâm Vĩnh Thế, on behalf of the Bùi Trọng Chương Scholarship Fund, presented the scholarship award to Trần Văn Cường.  After the ceremony, Mr. Lâm Vĩnh Thế met with Trần Văn Cường for 15 minutes to get to know more about the scholarship recipient.  Trần Văn Cường’s father passed away in 2015. Cường currently lives with his mother, who is a staff member of the Hoàng Văn Thụ Elementary School in Tân Bình District, Ho Chi Minh City.  During his 4 years (2011-2015) at the Nguyễn Gia Thiều Junior High School, Cường was repeatedly designated an Excellent Student. In the academic year of 2014-2015, he also obtained through a competition a district-level merit certificate as “Excellent Student in Mathematics” of Ho Chi Minh City.
