In 2021, despite the continuing economic slowdown due to the Covid-19
pandemic, the Bùi Trọng Chương scholarship fund (BTCSF) received 1,300 USD, 400
CAD, and 577 million VND in donations (equivalent
to 26,828 USD), including 510 million VND at the end of the year from the Sharing
charity group in Saigon, headed by Mrs. Mai Thị Hạnh. This is a record
fund-raising year for BTCSF thanks to the efforts of Mr. Lê Nhựt Tân and Ms. Nguyễn
Thị Tranh. Most of the donations from the Sharing charity group are put into
the BTCSF endowment, that means, only interests can be used for scholarship awards
on a long-term basis.
BTCSF increased the number of scholarships from 14 in 2019-20 to 23 in 2021-22.
Mr. Trần Hữu Phúc Tiến’s company Vietnam Centrepoint continued to
provide 23 foreign language bursaries (VND 10 million each) to 23 Bùi Trọng Chương
scholarship recipients in 2021-22. Due to online schooling in Saigon in the
first semester of the 2021-22 school year, these bursaries can be used starting
in January 2022.

USD from 455 million VND in the VND operating account bring the new investment
total to 20,915.71 USD in 2021.
